Frequently Asked Questions & Answers
So what on Earth is Blue Man Group all about?
BLUE MAN GROUP performances are euphoric celebrations of human connection through art, music, comedy and non-verbal communication. Since the Blue Men don’t speak, BLUE MAN GROUP transcends language barriers and is universally appealing to a broad range of age groups and cultural backgrounds. Each performance of BLUE MAN GROUP is unique, and audiences never experience the same show twice!
Is the show in English?
Since the Blue Men don’t speak, a Blue Man Group performance has universal appeal across the broadest range of ages and cultures. Each Blue Man Group performance is a joyful, high-energy, insanely inventive celebration of humanity and how we connect: through art, music, comedy and nonverbal communications.
Is the show the same in each location?
Since debuting in New York in 1991, Blue Man Group has expanded domestically - to Boston, Chicago and Las Vegas - as well as internationally, with a residency in Berlin. We’re frequently touring North America and the world too. At the heart of each show, three Blue Men create a connection with the audience and an experience unique to that performance. The shows all feature and follow common yet iconic themes. But moments, like musical nuances, vary from show to show and are continually revitalized with fresh stories, custom instruments, new music and renewed sensory-stimulating graphics.
What’s the running time of the show?
Each Blue Man Group performance typically runs 90-105 minutes with no intermission. You and your group might like to stick around after the show too, and enjoy a little extra time meeting the performers!
Are performance times customizable?
Some are, yes. Performance times can be adjusted for your group’s buyout or private performance. In select cities, such performances can also be customized for length.
What are the benefits of buying as a group?
Groups receive exclusive discounted rates for many performances and add-ons. Groups also avoid online service fees and can get priority booking before dates become available to the general public. What’s more, in each city, a dedicated Group Sales team assures personalized service and guidance on any question or issue, for a quick and easy experience that’s as fun as the show itself!
How many people make up a group?
Unless otherwise specified, you qualify for a group rate with a minimum of 10 tickets purchased. Anything less is technically considered a “gaggle” and isn’t eligible for a discount.
For Boston: You qualify for a Mini-Group rate with 8-14 guests, and deeper discounts are available for groups of 15 or more.
