Blue Man Productions, the parent company of the theatrical production Blue Man Group, is looking for a full–time Staff Accountant. This position reports to the Controller. This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of a great team and work for a collaborative and fun entertainment organization!
The Staff Accountant will handle a full range of responsibilities including: quarter and month end closings; reconciling subsidiary ledgers to general ledger, rolling forward accounts, maintaining prepaid reconciliation, analyzing and updating accrual accounts, reconciling intercompany accounts, and preparing elimination entries; developing and administering a fixed asset subsystem; cash management; wire transfers; audit preparation and support; assist in preparing annual report financial statements and footnotes; analyzing transactions, contracts and new business ventures to ensure that accounting treatments are in compliance with GAAP; financially oriented projects and other duties as assigned.
To be considered for this role, candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience and a Bachelors degree in Accounting, with a strong preference for a CPA. The ideal candidate will have experience with accounting software (Great Plains preferred), strong knowledge of monthly closing and consolidation procedures and be a very organized and motivated self-starter, who has a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a busy work environment.
